The most famous attraction in Marostica is the chess square. In this celebrated square, in front of the Lower Castel, a medieval reenactment takes place once in two years, inspired by a legend. The human chess game is played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the second week of September and engages more than 500 people dressed in costume.
