Christmas markets in Bassano

Palladio Hotel

The Christmas Markets in Bassano del Grappa and neighboring towns return this year. In fact, from November 27th the squares of the historic center will light up with lights and Christmas decorations, and will immediately take you into the atmosphere of the holidays.

The markets, as usual, will take place between Piazza Garibaldi, Piazzotto Montevecchio – the heart of medieval Bassano where, as every year for the Christmas holidays, the carousel is installed – and Piazza Libertà.

Here, inside the wooden houses, you can buy typical products and Venetian delicacies, or sip a hot mulled wine while admiring the nativity statues made by the skilled hands of local artisans. Stop to watch the wood carvers as they create compositions and small Christmas sculptures. The Bassano Christmas Markets will be the perfect opportunity to buy some nice and original Christmas gifts for friends and relatives, as well as to taste the classic roasted chestnuts, caramelized fruit skewers or the classic nougat. The historic center and the streets of the city will be illuminated for the festive season, and all kids will be able to taste the popcorn and cotton candy prepared by Santa Claus and his little helpers.
In addition, there will also be the nice Lilliputian Train, which will wander through the streets of the center.

But Bassano is not the only market in the area. In fact, the one in Castelfranco is also well known, which this year returns to the public gardens under the walls of the Castle, from November 27th to January 9th. The Christmas markets of Cittadella, Asolo and Marostica are also very popular and loved. They are in fact among the most beautiful villages and towns of Veneto and, at this time of the year, with the lights and scents typical of the Christmas period, such as ginger, cinnamon or carnation flowers, wrap visitors up in a magical atmosphere.

Staying in Bassano del Grappa is also an opportunity to discover the specialties and attractions of the area such as wineries and distilleries, or taste the best dishes of local cuisine in our B38 restaurant.

Additionally, for those who want to immerse themselves in nature: all around Bassano there are hills and mountains that are part of the UNESCO world heritage and absolutely worth a visit, such as Mount Grappa, proclaimed a Mab / Unesco Italian Biosphere Reserve, or the Prosecco Hills.
